Dear Treasure Valley Beekeeps-
At our last meeting monthly meeting in June, Dorine and John Taggart graciously donated a 4-frame extractor to the Club for use by the members. We have also recently acquired a 6-frame extractor for use by the members.
If you're interested in either extractor, here's the deal:
The 6-frame extractor is available on a first-come basis for $6/day. Call Ken Price @ 887-3514 to make arrangements. This machine is stored at Ken Price's home in Meridian.
The 4-frame extractor is available on a first-come basis for $4/day. Call here @ 344-2348 to make arrangements. This machine is stored in Southeast Boise.
Both machines are hand-crank devices. An uncapping knife accompanies the 4-frame machine. All dollars collected will go back into "The Envelope" (see club bylaws) for future club acquisitions for members' use.
Depending on the amount of honey you're going to be taking off, you'll want to line up some containers. In the past, I've found that pastry shops often have durable food grade plastic buckets that will only take a little cleaning. Costs have varied from free to $1/bucket.
Good luck, the early harvest is upon us.
Steve
