I use no chemical treatments in my hive, and am interested in swapping queens, cells, or frames of eggs with anybody out there doing the same. I currently raise my own queens, and graft queen cells for Hamilton Honey in Nampa. Steve Sweet expressed an interest in coming out one weekend in May to learn more about grafting and queen rearing. I welcome anyone else who might be interested to come along.

Lou, I told you we had a colony with extremely low mite counts. This is the one tipped over this winter. Looked at it last weekend. The queen was injured - bees pulling at her and she doing her best to lay but no go. Killed her and combined with another. Bummer. Our remaining 5 hives are all survivors from swarms (no treatments other than sugar dusting) but I can't say they are outstanding. So nothing to share really. I want a couple of your queens in late May or after and am very interested in seeing you graft anytime from late May on. Dick
